The four things visitors and expats ask us first.
A cavity filling in Bangkok costs 900–1,500 THB at HeySmile for the first surface of a tooth-coloured filling, plus 500–600 THB for each extra surface on the same tooth. The check-up is included.
Often, yes. Most fillings are done in one visit, straight after the check-up, and a small filling usually takes about 30–60 minutes. Message us for the next available time; we are open every day 09:30–19:30.
The dentist numbs the tooth with local anaesthetic when needed, so you should not feel pain during the filling. The tooth can feel sensitive to cold for a few days.
HeySmile places tooth-coloured composite fillings, matched to the shade of your tooth. Silver (amalgam) fillings are not part of our standard treatment.
From the HeySmile 2026 price list. A dentist examines the tooth and confirms the price before starting.

For comparison, 900–1,500 THB is roughly US$27–45, £20–33 or €23–39 at September 2026 exchange rates; check the rate for your own currency on the day. Prices differ from clinic to clinic in Bangkok: these are the published HeySmile prices, and they are the same for Thai and international patients.
A back tooth has a chewing surface on top and side walls. A small hole on top is a 1-surface filling. If the decay also reaches the side where the tooth touches its neighbour, the filling covers 2 or 3 surfaces, and the price goes up for each extra surface. The dentist shows you on the X-ray or with a mirror before starting.
| One tooth-coloured filling | Price (THB) |
|---|---|
| 1 surface: a small hole on the chewing surface | 900–1,500 |
| 2 surfaces: the chewing surface and one side | 1,400–2,100 |
| 3 surfaces: the chewing surface and both sides | 1,900–2,700 |
A tooth with a very large break may be better restored with an onlay or a crown. See the fillings section of the price list.
900–1,500 THB
Usually done in one visit, straight after the check-up.
An estimate from the published price list, not a quote. The check-up is included. Your dentist confirms the number of fillings, their size and the price after examining your teeth.
The dentist recommends one of these after the check-up, and explains why in English.
For cavities, small chips and old fillings that have worn or cracked. Built up in layers, hardened with a curing light and polished to match your tooth. One visit. 900–1,500 THB for the first surface.
A short-term seal when a filling falls out, a tooth is part-way through treatment, or you fly soon and the full repair has to wait. 500 THB. It is meant to last a few weeks, so arrange a permanent filling within about a month, at HeySmile or at home, or decay can continue underneath it.
A protective base placed under a deep filling, close to the nerve of the tooth. Added only when the dentist needs it, for 300 THB.
Composite added to the sides of front teeth to close a small gap. 1,500–4,500 THB, depending on the size of the gap and how many teeth are involved.
For a back tooth with a break too large for a normal filling but not bad enough for a full crown. It is made in a dental lab, so it takes two visits. 14,000 THB.
A badly broken tooth may need a crown (metal from 9,000 THB, porcelain-fused-to-metal or all-ceramic 12,000–18,000 THB). If decay has reached the nerve, the tooth needs root canal treatment before it is filled.
A filling repairs a tooth damaged by decay or a small break, which usually stops the damage from spreading deeper into the tooth.
Small cavities often do not hurt at all, which is why they are usually found at a check-up.
Keep the area clean, chew on the other side and avoid very hot, cold or sticky food. Message us or call 092-749-2829 during opening hours. The dentist can usually place a new filling in one visit, or a temporary filling if the tooth needs more treatment later.
Throbbing pain or swelling? The nerve of the tooth may be affected, and a filling alone may not be enough. We will try to see you the same day. If swelling spreads to your eye or neck, or you find it hard to breathe or swallow, go to a hospital emergency department straight away.

One visit for most fillings. You can go back to your day straight afterwards.
The dentist examines the tooth, takes an X-ray if needed and tells you in English how many surfaces the filling covers and what it costs. Nothing starts until you agree.
The tooth is numbed if needed. The dentist removes the decay or the old filling and cleans the tooth.
Tooth-coloured composite is placed in thin layers, each one hardened with a blue curing light, then shaped to fit your bite. A deep cavity may get a liner first.
The dentist checks your bite and polishes the filling. You pay at reception in cash, by card or by bank transfer and receive an itemised receipt in English.
A composite filling is hard as soon as the light has set it. If your tooth was numbed, wait until the numbness wears off before eating or hot drinks, so you do not bite your cheek or tongue.
Mild sensitivity to cold or biting for a few days is common, especially after a deep filling. If it lasts more than two weeks, gets worse, or the filling feels high when you bite, contact us so the dentist can check it.
Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, clean between your teeth and cut down on sugary snacks and drinks. Regular check-ups find new decay while it is still small.
Your filling is done by one of our 10 Thai-licensed dentists, who all consult in English. Meet the dentists.

“I usually go to the dentist in the United States, and this was my first time seeing a dentist abroad. I'm glad I came because I knew I could get the same level of care I'm used to at home. I really recommend it.”

A small filling usually takes less than an hour. Larger fillings, or several fillings at once, take longer, and the dentist may split them over two visits.
The tooth is numbed with local anaesthetic when needed, so you should not feel pain during the filling. The tooth can feel sensitive to cold for a few days afterwards.
HeySmile places tooth-coloured composite fillings, matched to the shade of your tooth; silver (amalgam) fillings are not part of our standard treatment. An old silver filling that is still sound does not need replacing for health reasons, and the dentist will tell you if yours does. If you do want one replaced with composite, the price follows the number of surfaces.
Yes. If you are insured under Thai Social Security, you can use the 900 THB per year dental benefit for fillings, scaling and extractions at HeySmile. Any amount above 900 THB is paid at the clinic.
Keep the area clean, chew on the other side and message HeySmile Dental Clinic on WhatsApp or call 092-749-2829. The dentist can usually place a new filling in one visit, or a temporary filling (500 THB) if the tooth needs more treatment later.
Commonly around five to ten years, though this varies a lot. How long depends on the size of the filling, which tooth it is on, whether you grind your teeth, and how well you clean your teeth and limit sugar. Regular check-ups catch wear or new decay early.
That depends on your policy. You pay at the clinic and receive an itemised receipt in English with the tooth and the materials used. Ask your insurer before you travel which documents they need for a claim.
